Dear Partner in Pride:

Pride and Promote Los Angeles Black Pride is proud of it’s accomplishment over the past two decades, now more than ever, given the current political climate and the state of the economy, a call to action is needed in order to carry out this great tradition for the community.

Pride and Promote has truly been a celebration of all that is beautiful and diverse in the LGBT /SGL community. Los Angeles has set the standard for the LGBT/ SGL community that others now strive to achieve.

However, like many historically gay and lesbian organizations, your the organization is faced with some fiscal and financial challenges raising the crucial funds needed for our Annual operations and to fund all or Projects, Programs and Initiatives including;

The Toy Drive / Toy Give Away: An event built as an outreach to LGBT/ SGL Families with children. The organization sometimes partner with other groups and organization for the Toy Drive and Then organize an event to Give away the Toys and Gifts collected during the drive to LGBT/ SGL families and their children.

The Quarterly Job Fair: An event built as an outreach to Agencies, Businesses, Other Organizations and Partners to network Individuals in the community to employment opportunities, Advocating for Jobs for the community and educating Job Owners to allow for sensitivity to our community

Youth Program: A Training and Networking program created for youths in recognition of the wide spread hate impacting this group and their ability to handle the stress as a result of this experience.

ANNUAL AT THE BEACH: The two decade old traditional Annual 5 day pride event with the central focus Celebrated at one of the numerous beaches within the county of Los Angeles. event built to celebrate the diversity of the community with events showcasing Arts, Traditions & Culture of the community. The 4th of July Pride Festival is basically the celebratory aspect of The Pride and Promote Organization

Other Programs and Initiatives: Includes health and wellness Programs, Community Outreach Programs, Hosting of Training Lectures and Seminars and Holiday Parties and Events to bring together the community together in a safe environment to celebrate the existence of the community and inherent diversity.

We are faced with the important task of raising funds in order to maintain our annual Pride Festival, Youth Program, Toy Drives and other line up of events and initiatives/Programs due to lack of sponsorship and escalating costs, we’ve found ourselves with shortfalls.

We need your help in raising the necessary dollars to continue to function in our capacity to Educate, Advocate and Celebrate the existence of the Black and the Diverse Racial, Cultural and Ethnic nature of the LGBT/ SGL Community. Your donation of $5 or more will greatly help to offset our annual deficit. All donations to Pride and Promote are tax deductible.

This is developed for the purpose of Advocating, Educating and Celebrating the Diversity of the Black and Other minority LGBT Family. The program works towards Advancing and Protecting the rights and dignity of these units while working towards developing Individual and Family Health, Child Advancement Initiatives including holiday Toy and School Drives for children of the community

Purpose is developing programs that promote employment of members of the community. LEADERSHIP & SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE

Build new leaders, advocate against bullying, encourage minority parents to form or join neighborhood PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), Advocate for and educate schools on dealing with the younger LGBT teens , support and encourage LGBT and straight alliances, creating and developing alliances with schools & Colleges, create scholarship or sponsorships programs, advocate against stigma while promoting mental health development to address suicides. PRIDE, ALLIANCE DEVELOPMENT & GENERAL ORGANIZATION FUND

Forming alliances with Businesses, Enterprises, Groups, Institutions, Religious units, Corporations, organizations, Collectives and Governmental Units in other to promote and Advance the needs, wants and requirements of the black and minority LGBT community. Developing the Annual 4th of July Pride festivity dues to its Historic, Socio-Cultural and apparent Psychological and Philosophical significance and support.

LGBT COMMUNITY CENTER

The development of a space/facility where needs of the community are met. the centers will have facilities specific to Health, Art, Socio-culture, Recreational & Sports, Education & Training, Retirement, Liaison and a Center for Archives of all historical record of the black and minority LGBT community
