Dear Friends,
Throughout history, art has given our culture as people of color and the LGBT community the ability to exemplify and share our extraordinary talents with the world.
From the craft of colors in a painting, the bold definition of a bust, spirit engaging sound of a note, powerful meaning of a poem and magic in dance moves — we are born with a gift that is meant to be seen and heard as we share our stories.
Art comes from our heart, mind and soul and perfected over time by absorbing from the greatest of artists in history, some of them proud to be apart of the LGBT family.
As Pride and Promote of Los Angeles celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Los Angeles Black Pride, we invite artists from our community to help us recognize the evolution of all aspects of art, then and now.
Throughout the upcoming 4th of July weekend, we want to honor our artists with a special event “Spectacular: A Festival of Arts”.
We’re calling on film makers, dancers, painters, graphic designers, fashion designers, musicians, authors, poets, and singers to take part of this phenomenal celebration.
Over July 3-7, 2012 the stage and spotlight is on you before a host of other artists, buyers, visitors, talent agents, and young minds willing to learn and embrace your gifts.
As we develop this one of a kind program, we hope you accept our invitation to a standing ovation, love and appreciation of your work.
